2,2-Dimethylolbutanoic Acid (Chain Extender Hydrophilic Agent DMBA) Uses: DMBA Is A Neopentylcarboxylic Acid With Two Reactive Methylol Groups And Therefore Can Be Used As A Synthetic Aqueous Polymer System , Can Be Widely Used In Water-Soluble Polyurethane, Polyester, Epoxy Resin And So On. DMBA Has Better Solubility Than DMPA In Different Solvents, So The Working Efficiency Can Be Greatly Improved.
DMBA Is Considered Waterborne Polyurethane A New Generation Of Green Chain Extenders And Internal Emulsifiers To Produce Waterborne Polyurethane Adhesives Without Organic Solvents And With Zero Organic Residue. DMPA Does Not Exist The Use Of High Melting Point, Slow Dissolution, Long Reaction Time, High Energy Consumption, Poor Product Performance, The Need To Join The Organic Solvent, Solvent Residues And Other Issues. Can Also Be Used For Water-Based Epoxy Resin, Polyester And Other Adhesives Manufacturing. At Present, Water-Based Polyurethane, Water-Based Resin, Water-Based Adhesives, Water-Based Paint And Other Water-Based Multi-Purpose Additives Modified Aids (Hydrophilic Chain Extender), As A Monomer, The Process Of Modification, Dimethylol Butyric Acid (DMBA) Without Adding Any Organic Solvent (Replaced By Water), The Production Process Is More Simple, Stable Performance, Of Which Dimethylolpropionic Acid (DMPA) With Superior Cost-Effective Make It More Common In The Field Of Water-Based Applications!
Compared To DMBA And DMPA, DMBA Has The Following Obvious Advantages:
2,2-Dimethylolbutyric Acid (Chain Extender Hydrophilic Agent DMBA) Has A Water Solubility Of 48% And A DMPA Of 12%. At The Same Time DMBA Low Melting Point, 108 ~ 115 ;
Due To Its Excellent Solubility And Low Melting Point, DMBA Does Not Require Solvents Or Solvents For The Synthesis Of Aqueous Polyurethane Emulsions.
(2) High Reaction Rate, Fast Reaction, Low Reaction Temperature. Synthetic Polyurethane Prepolymer Reaction Time Is Short, Generally Only 50-60 Minutes, While DMPA Has 150-180 Minutes. This Is Because DMBA Structure Than DMPA More Than A Methylene, Carboxyl And Methylene Distance Increased, The Carboxyl And Isocyanate Steric Hindrance Decreased, So That The Reaction Rate Increases.
