Chemical properties and main application fields
Used to improve the transparency, flexibility and strength of polyester. DMIP improves polyester's strength, transparency, flexibility, good solubility and plasticizing properties. . It is increasingly used in fiber optic, thin film and optical lens applications. It is used as a plasticizer or intermediate to increase the molecular weight of polyesters, helping to enhance mechanical and optical properties such as clarity. It can significantly increase its heat resistance and adhesion in PET and PEN polyester films and composite resins. It is increasingly used in textile films, metals, paper processing, coatings and specialty inks.
There is also a significant use to improve the clarity and strength of PET carbonated beverage bottles. Another important application area is optical resins, thermoplastic elastomers, engineering plastics.
